So, as I mentioned before, I bought a brand new "super" computer. Well, it turned out not to be so "super" at all. It was very pretty and VERY fast, but we couldn't get the monitor to calibrate properly for color. After trying and trying, I did an online search to see if I could troubleshoot the problem. Turns out, Vista has it's own idea of what color management should be and constantly overrides custom settings. Why is that important? If the monitor color isn't accurate, your prints will look different than the screen showed them. In fact, that is how I realized there was a problem. People were looking good on my camera, bad on the computer and then worse after I fixed what I thought was bad. So, I took the computer back to Best Buy, naturally after the return policy was expired and had a melt down in the store about it. Although I felt like an idiot for being a crybaby, they let me exchange my computer for a 24" iMac! I am just getting all of my software reordered and installed and I am very excited to have made the transition. It's something we've thought about many times, but just didn't do it. I'll be posting weddings tomorrow!
